John is a seasoned professional with a rich history in urban development and market management. With a career spanning over three decades in the industry, John's journey includes a significant stint at URBED (1985-1994), where he focused on town centre strategies, historic preservation, and local economic development.
From 1994 to 2023, John played a pivotal role at Urban Space Management, overseeing iconic spaces like Swindon Market Hall, Greenwich Market, and Trinity Buoy Wharf. His extensive expertise led him to REIMAGINE in 2022, where he contributes part-time, focusing on leasing, licences, legal matters, and strategic elements.
Drawing from his extensive experience, John points to various 'destinations with purpose' in London, such as Spitalfields Market, Truman Brewery, and Trinity Buoy Wharf. However, he warns against the risk of these spaces losing their purpose and becoming mere property investments, citing examples like Spitalfields and Camden. John's nuanced perspective adds depth to Reimagine's approach, enriching the team with a wealth of experience and foresight.
